He is a disciple of the Most Venerable Elder Master Th\u00edch Tr\u00ed Th\u1ee7 (1909-1984), First President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">At the age of 12, he returned from Paks\u00e9 to Saigon, then returned to Hu\u1ebf, studied at T\u1eeb \u0110\u00e0m Buddhist Temple with the Most Venerable Master Th\u00edch Thi\u1ec7n Si\u00eau (1921-2001), then studied at H\u1ea3i \u0110\u1ee9c Central Buddhist institute in Nha Trang and Qu\u1ea3ng H\u01b0\u01a1ng Gi\u00e0 Lam Monastery in Saigon.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">He graduated from the College of Buddhist Studies in Saigon in 1964, founded by Zen Master Th\u00edch Nh\u1ea5t H\u1ea1nh (1926-2022). After that, he graduated from the Buddhist studies department of V\u1ea1n H\u1ea1nh University when he was only 22 years old.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In 1970, with research projects, valuable treatises on Zen studies and Buddhist Philosophy,, including his first work Outline of meditation studies and most prominently, Buddhist Philosophy of Emptiness, Master Tu\u1ec7 S\u1ef9 was specially appointed as a full Professor at V\u1ea1n H\u1ea1nh University by the Most Venerable Elder Master Th\u00edch Minh Ch\u00e2u as Rector (1918-2012). He was the youngest professor at V\u1ea1n H\u1ea1nh University at that time.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">In 1971, th\u1ea7y was appointed by the Venerable Th\u00edch Minh Ch\u00e2u as General Secretary of T\u01b0 T\u01b0\u1edfng (Thought) magazine &#8211; the mouthpiece of Van Hanh University. In addition, he also worked as editorial secretary, editor, and participated in collaborating with many contemporary newspapers and research magazines such as V\u1ea1n H\u1ea1nh, H\u1ea3i Tri\u1ec1u \u00c2m, Kh\u1edfi H\u00e0nh, Th\u1eddi T\u1eadp, etc.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif;\">Master Th\u00edch Tu\u1ec7 S\u1ef9 is famous for being erudite scholar and fluent in many ancient and living languages such as Chinese, Sanskrit, Tibetan, English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, etc. For most of his entire life, he devoted most of his time and enthusiasm to translating and commenting on Buddhist Texts, especially the Agama Canons. He also edited and annotated the Vietnamese translation of <em>Dharmagupta Vinaya<\/em> by the Most Venerable Th\u00edch \u0110\u1ed7ng Minh, the translation of the <em>Ekottarik \u0100gama <\/em>by Master Th\u00edch \u0110\u1ee9c Th\u1eafng and presided over the translation of the popular Buddhist canon &#8211;
