The deva asked questions which the Blessed One answered.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%; color: #000000;\">The deva said: &#8220;<strong>What is the sharpest sword<\/strong>? <strong>What is the deadliest poison<\/strong>? <strong>What is the fiercest fire<\/strong>? What is the darkest night?&#8221; The Blessed One replied: &#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>A word spoken in wrath is the sharpest sword<\/strong><\/span>; <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>covetousness is the deadliest poison<\/strong><\/span>; <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>passion is the fiercest fire<\/strong><\/span>;<span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\"> <strong>ignorance is the darkest night<\/strong><\/span>.&#8221;<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%; color: #000000;\">The deva said: &#8220;<strong>Who gains the greatest benefit? Who loses most? Which armor is invulnerable? What is the best weapon?<\/strong>&#8221; The Blessed One replied: &#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>He is the greatest gainer who to others, and he loses most who greedily receives without gratitude. <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">Patience<\/span> is an invulnerable armor; <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">wisdom<\/span> is the best weapon.&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%; color: #000000;\">The deva said: &#8220;<strong>Who is the most dangerous thief? What is the most precious treasure? Who is most successful in taking away violence not only on earth but also in heaven? What is the securest treasure-trove?&#8221;<\/strong> The Blessed One replied: &#8220;<span style=\"color: #ed1c24;\"><strong><span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">Evil thought<\/span> is the most dangerous thief<\/strong>; <strong><span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">virtue<\/span> is the most precious treasure<\/strong>. <strong><span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">The mind<\/span> takes possession of everything not only on earth, but also in heaven, and <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">immortality<\/span> is its securest treasure-trove<\/strong><\/span>.&#8221;<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%; color: #000000;\">The deva said: &#8220;<strong>What is attractive? What is disgusting? What is the most horrible pain? What is the greatest enjoyment<\/strong>?&#8221; The Blessed One replied: &#8220;<span style=\"color: #ed1c24;\"><strong><span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">Good<\/span> is attractive; evil is disgusting. <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">A bad conscience<\/span> is the most tormenting pain; <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">deliverance<\/span> is the height of bliss<\/strong><\/span>.&#8221;<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%; color: #000000;\">The deva asked: &#8220;<strong>What causes ruin in the world? What breaks off friendships? What is the most violent fever? Who is the best physician<\/strong>?&#8221; The Blessed One replied: &#8220;<span style=\"color: #ed1c24;\"><strong><span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">Ignorance<\/span> causes the ruin of the world. <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">Envy and selfishness<\/span> break off friendships. <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">Hatred<\/span> is the most violent fever, and <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">the Buddha<\/span> is the best physician<\/strong><\/span>.&#8221;<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%; color: #000000;\">The deva then asked and said: &#8220;<strong>Now I have only one doubt to be solved; pray, clear it away: What is it fire can neither burn, nor moisture corrode, nor wind crush down, but is able to reform the whole world<\/strong>?&#8221; The Blessed One replied: &#8220;<span style=\"color: #ed1c24;\"><strong>Blessing! Neither fire, nor moisture, nor wind can destroy <span style=\"background-color: #ffff00;\">the blessing of a good deed<\/span>, and blessings reform the whole world<\/strong><\/span>.&#8221;<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%; color: #000000;\">The deva,<strong> having heard the words of the Blessed One, was full of exceeding joy. Clasping his hands, he bowed down before him in reverence and disappeared suddenly from the presence of the Buddha.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%; color: #000000;\">***<\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To avoid unwholesome actions,<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Not caught by alcoholism or drugs,<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And to be diligent in doing good things<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This is the greatest happiness.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"o9v6fnle cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 120%;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sadhu sadhu sadhu<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dhammadhasi Bhante .
