Mindfulness is the foundation. By practicing mindfulness, you can develop concentration which enables you to attain understanding. Thanks to right concentration, you realize right awareness, thoughts, speech, action, livelihood and effort. Seeing things as they are. Right view means to thoroughly understand the Four Noble Truths, to believe in the law of Cause and Effect and not to be deceived by appearances and desires. Thoughts free from lust, attachment, ill-will, cruelty, covetousness, jealousy, harmful intent and the wrong view.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">The Lord Buddha said, &#8220;We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world. Speak or act with an impure mind, and trouble will follow you, as the wheel follows the ox that draws the cart. We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make the world. Speak or act with a pure mind, and happiness will follow you, as your shadow, unshakable.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">3-<span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-family: impact, sans-serif;\">RIGHT SPEECH<\/span>:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">Right speech means speech free from lying, slandering, using harsh and abusive words and idle gossip. (Don&#8217;t take what is not freely given).<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">(c)-Sexual misconduct.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">(d)-Harming.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">The Buddha said: &#8220;Do not do anything harmful, do only what is good, purify and train your mind. This is the teaching of the Buddha, this is the path to enlightenment.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">5-<\/span><span style=\"font-family: impact, sans-serif;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">RIGHT LIVELIHOOD<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">Right livelihood means to abstain from trading in anything that would bring harm to yourself and others.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">Do not trade in:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">(a)-Human beings. (Slavery, prostitution).<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">(b)-Flesh. (Breeding animals for slaughter).<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">(c)-Intoxicants. (Drugs and alcohol).<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">(d)-Poisons.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">(e) \u2013Weapons.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">Virtue should always out-weigh material gain.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">6-<span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-family: impact, sans-serif;\">RIGHT EFFORT<\/span>:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">Right effort means to try to do one&#8217;s best diligently toward the right direction.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: impact, sans-serif; color: #ff0000;\">The Four Great Efforts<\/span><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">1-The effort to avoid any new unwholesome thoughts.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">2-The effort to overcome any existing unwholesome thoughts.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">3-The effort to develop only good and wholesome thoughts.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">4-The effort to maintain the goodness that already exists.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">We should make an effort to relinquish grasping and clinging. (to things such as ego, opinions, pleasure\/pain principle, gain\/loss principle, praise\/blame principle, fame\/shame principle, meaningless religious rites and rituals, the limited and short-sighted view that sees only this world and this life).<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">Quote from the <em>Dhammapada<\/em>: &#8220;With sustained effort and sincerity, discipline and self-control, the wise become like islands which no flood can overwhelm.&#8221;<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">7-<span style=\"color: #ff0000; font-family: impact, sans-serif;\">RIGHT MINDFULNESS<\/span>:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 200%;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua, palatino, serif;\">Right mindfulness means to maintain a pure and thoughtful mind. Seeking to realise the minds pure essence.
