Namo the Original Master Sakyamuni Buddhaya
Respectfully, Dear the Most Venerable Thích Tâm Viên, along with your Dharma Relatives and Secular Relatives,
From the United States of America, when receiving the Parinirvana news of the Late Most Venerable Thero Thích Như Ý, Head Monk, founding Linh Sơn Pháp Bảo Temple, in Vĩnh Ngọc Commune, Nha Trang City, Khánh Hòa Province, Vietnam, leading my sincere mind to the Temple, I would like to respectfully pay homage to the Late Most Venerable Thero.
Along with the college of Hải Đức Buddhist institute in Nha Trang and Headquarters of Long Sơn Temple of Buddhist Sangha of Khánh Hòa Province before and after 1975, the Linh Sơn Pháp Bảo Temple has been a place to practice and train talented and virtuous people, especially young-age monastics with enough wholesome conditions often sent to study there.
From 1989 to 1994, I had a good chance to be sent by the Late Most Venerable Original Thero Thích Như Tịnh, Head Monk of Linh Nghia Temple in Diên Khánh District, Khánh Hòa Province, to study Buddhadharma at the Linh Sơn Pháp Bảo Temple, where the Most Venerable Thero Thích Như Ý was happy to agree and accept me as a his Temple’s student monk.
There, in 1989, under the enthusiastic and thoughtful instructions of the Most Venerable Thero Thích Như Ý, young-age monastics frequently experienced basic Buddhist Dharma lessons such as the rules of harmony of building fraternities, Encouraging Development of Bodhi Mind, History of Shakyamuni Buddha, etc. In spite of basic Buddhadharma, it plays very important roles in nurturing and developing Buddhadharma stably for young-age monastic practitioners.
From 1990 to 1994, Secondary School of Provincial Khánh Hòa Buddhist Studies, formerly known as Fundamental School of Provincial Khánh Hòa Buddhist Studies, was allowed to establish and teach the Buddhadharma at that School. At that time, student monks still stayed at the Linh Sơn Pháp Bảo Temple in Vĩnh Ngọc Commune, Nha Trang City, and Student Nuns stayed at Diệu Quang Nunnery in Phước Hải Ward, Nha Trang City. The schedule for cultivation and studies at the School and at the Temple is very tight.
Student monks lived at the non-resident school. From the Linh Sơn Pháp Bảo Temple to Secondary school of Buddhist Studies at the Provincial Long Sơn Temple in Nha Trang City about 4 kilometers. The ways of going, standing, cultivation, learning, eating, drinking, chanting, and meditation practice of monastic students under the very enthusiastic and thoughtful supervision and instructions of Dharma teachers, especially the Most Venerable Thero Thích Như Ý.
Today, although achieving some fields of certain Buddhadharma cultivation and learning at home and abroad, we have always been deeply grateful for the months and years we ever cultivated and studied the Buddhadharma at the Linh Sơn Pháp Bảo Temple.
Once again, leading our wholehearted minds to the Linh Sơn Pháp Bảo Temple, we respectfully pay homage to the Late Most Venerable Thero Thích Như Ý going to the Buddha’s realm peacefully, soon returning to Sahà realm to keep his careers of teaching and helping sentient beings to the shore of joy and happiness together. We would like to respectfully wish Monastics of Dharma relatives and secular relatives peace and joy with the achievement of Buddhist activities, especially caring for your Dharma Master’s funeral fully and successfully.
