LIFE
Poetry – The Most Venerable Elder Master Thích Tịnh Đức composing before passing away
Not so long, I will leave this world
Right, wrong, troublesome problems of wandering life
The things of profit, fame, happiness, suffering, connection, and separation
What is left when the coffin is closed
Anyone who debates a lot also eats two or three meals a day
No matter how much we argue, we will bury a few lying inches
Life lasts draftily for one hundred years
Human benevolence is heavy or resentful to leave
When closing their eyes, most people are scared
This accident is either this disease or that disease
But there are people when closing their eyes and passing away
The lips still open their peaceful smiles
Life is just a strewn dock
Of an indeterminate human life before and after
Live happily, everyone wants to quickly seek
But good karma not many people love to create
Cultivate humanity, accumulate virtue, do good, and avoid evil
We must love people as we love ourselves
Compassion is the source of stream flowing vastly
To thousands of different beings full of suffering
Live for other people, hundreds of flowers blossom
Shorten samsara, continue to save the souls
Live for people, live in freedom and self-sacrifice
See the three worlds to go in and out like an inn
Like clouds flying freely here and there
Helping sentient beings be more shades of the rain source
Lightly watering the vegetable garden, cabbage, and melon
Letting the ground be full of flowers and buds
Finishing working, I go back to my old place
Farewell from life, peacefully sleeping forever…
