Maitreya Buddha’s New Year Celebration and welcome Tết of the Year of the Tiger – 2022
To Monastics, lay Buddhists, and everyone,
“On New Year’s new day, Maitreya was born
with his much good virtue and peaceful mind,
we who respectfully pay homage to him,
pray peace for all over living beings.
The program celebrates Tết, the Lunar New Year of the Tiger – 2022 held at Lien Hoa Temple as follows:
SUNDAY, January 30, 2022, the 28th December of the Year of Ox
11:00 am: Year-end worship Ceremony and Memorial Prayers
MONDAY, January 31, 2022, the 29th December of the Year of Ox
06:00 pm: Year-end Penitent Ceremony
08:00 pm: Lunar New Year’s Eve Celebration in the Year of the Tiger
The Ceremony to wish new year happy age for the Most Venerable Chief Monk
Happy New Year celebration and giving new year lucky gifts to everyone.
TUESDAY, February 1, 2022, the First Day of the Lunar New Year of Tiger
11:00 am: Maitreya Buddha’s New Year Celebration
Praying peace and safety for the national
05:00 pm: Chanting course of New Year well-being prayers
WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, February 2 & 3, 2022, the Second & Third Days of the Lunar New Year of Tiger
07:00 pm: Chanting the Medicine Sutra and Well-being Prayers for the New year
During the three days of Tết, the Temple is open from the morning to evening for everyone to alternately to offer the incenses and pay homage to your blood ancestors and spiritual ancestors. For public health, remember to wear masks and keep your hands clean by using hand sanitizer frequently.
If you want to register to say well-being prayers and memorial prayers, please contact the Temple office to get a sample form.
Especially, Liên Hoa Temple has a parking lot of a church and schools near the Temple and has security guards who will guide you to safely park during Tết so that you can go to the Temple to pay respects for the Buddha at the beginning of the New Year.
