INVITATION LETTER of ATTENDING VU LAN FILIAL PIETY– PARENTS’ DAY – 2568 
Sunday, September 15, 2024
To: Dear Monastic, lay Buddhists, and everyone,
Each year, lunar July, the full Moon Day
The filial children diligently say well-being prayers;
Praying for parents to live long
Instructing children and grandchildren to take refuge in together peacefully and joyfully.
Indeed, according to Vietnamese Buddhist culture, every year when the Vu Lan festival returns, Buddhists, even though they live in many different places around the world, all spend their appropriate time going to the Temples to pay homage to the Buddha, listen to the Dharma, chant Sutras, and participate joyfully in the great Ceremony of VU LAN – Filial Piety. We know that the VU LAN, the most important Spiritual Cultural Festival for Buddhists, including the following events: 
First, pray for parents living in the present to increase virtuous blessing and longevity. 
Second, pray for the deceased who hear the Sutras and Verses to be born into a peaceful realm.
Third, diligently develop the study and practice of the Buddha Dharma and protect the Three Jewels during the Summer Retreat season of Monastic and lay devotees.
Fourth, pray for world peace and for people to obtain joy and happiness. 
Through the process of studying, applying, and practicing the Buddha Dharma in our daily lives, we can reap the flowers and fruits of peace and happiness right here and right now in the present life.
The Vu Lan-Parents’ Day Ceremonial program at Pháp Nhãn Temple will be held as follows:
09:00 am: Welcome everyone to Pháp Nhãn Temple
09:30 am: Welcome monastic people to the Temple
10:00 am: The VU LAN’s Great Ceremony (will have a separate program)
10:30 am: Dharma talks about the meaning of VU LAN- Filial Piety
11:30 am: Rose Ceremony being pinned on your pocket
12:00 pm: Making offerings to Monastics and having cordial lunch
12:30 pm: Singing joyfully about the Vu Lan festival of filial piety
01:30 pm: The Ceremony of becoming the Buddha’s children *
02:00 pm: Closing activities.
We would like to wish you and your loved Ones full of peace, joy, and happiness in the Dharma.
