Peace messengers have been sharing and spreading Buddhist culture among people of all backgrounds at Trúc Lâm Cậu Chín Temple in Houston, Texas
Today, Monday, April 27, 2026, the European–American Dharma Propagation Delegation visited Trúc Lâm Temple in Houston, Texas, USA, and surrounding areas to deliver Dharma teachings in various languages, with English as the primary language, for both Buddhists and non-Buddhists who are disciples of Master Hạnh Hoa, very popular pen name Cậu Chín.
The Dharma talk was truly meaningful, imbued with the spirit of the Path, and rich in value and practical guidance for spiritual practice for the community in Houston and surrounding areas.
Those who came to listen to the Dharma represented many different ethnicities and nationalities, including both monastics and lay practitioners.
They gathered at Trúc Lâm Cậu Chín Houston Temple to attend Dharma talks and study the teachings as if participating in a festival, held every Monday afternoon from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Master Hạnh Hoa, affectionately known as “Master Cậu Chín,” is a cultural messenger who has conveyed and spread Buddhist culture to Western audiences in a very meaningful way. Although the title is simple, his work embodies compassion, inclusiveness, and great openness toward people of all backgrounds and nationalities.
This special case, in the United States in particular and in the world in general, is not easily found at a second temple or monastery.
Nowadays, simply having regular Dharma activities in each city or state can bring countless benefits to those who come to the temple to study the Dharma, understand the Dharma, and practice the Noble Teaching.
They come to the temple to listen to and study the Dharma, to deeply understand the Noble Teaching, and to offer voluntary service. Within the temple grounds, no cigarette butts or smoking can be seen. When they meet the venerable monks, they respectfully join their palms in reverence with joyful smiles and recite “Namo Amitabha Buddha,” creating a solemn and peaceful atmosphere.
We practice together in harmony,
Awakening the Buddha-nature within the heart,
Turning toward praising the Dharma,
Compassion and wisdom brought to perfection.
Through cities, towns, and countryside wide,
May the world prosper and long abide.
All people following the Buddha’s way,
Across continents, bow to the Blessed One each day.
