DHARMA ACTIVITIES AT KIM QUANG PAGODA, FRANCE–2026
Last Sunday, at the happy invitation of Venerable Thích Minh Định, Abbot of Kim Quang Pagoda in France, Venerable Thích Trừng Sỹ had the good opportunity to reside at the temple and share the Buddha’s teachings with the local Buddhist community. The occasion was especially joyful and meaningful as it was held in celebration of Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva’s Enlightenment Day.
On this auspicious occasion, a longevity celebration ceremony was also held in honor of Dharma Sister Pháp Hạnh, the beloved mother of Venerable Thích Minh Định and Sister Đàm Như. With the gracious presence of Venerable Elder Pháp Đạt, their father, the Dharma activities at Kim Quang Pagoda became even more warm, joyful, and meaningful.
With heartfelt respect, we sincerely wish Venerable Thích Minh Định, Venerable Elder Pháp Đạt, all the Venerable Sisters, and all Buddhist devotees at Kim Quang Pagoda abundant health, peace, and happiness while abiding in the blessings of the True Dharma.
On Sunday, I came to Kim Quang Pagoda ’s sacred shrine,
Where seeds of the Golden Dharma bloom and shine.
The Teacher’s pure and gentle words of grace,
Awaken Buddha-nature in every heart and place.
When Avalokiteshvara attained the Way,
His boundless love illumines the world’s dark way.
Compassion and wisdom, profound and bright, May Dharma friends dwell in peace and harmony,
With Bodhi companions on the path to the Tathāgata’s seat of serenity.
May the Buddha’s teachings forever remain,
And the Golden Dharma shine through time’s vast domain.
May the True Dharma spread across every land,
With loving-kindness flowing hand in hand.
May life blossom with flowers of peace and light,
Pure joy and love embracing all beings bright.
Have guided humankind through endless night.
Indeed, Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara (Guanyin) is a sublime symbol of compassion, wisdom, and the great vow to relieve suffering and liberate beings from hardship in Mahāyāna Buddhism. Whether manifested in a male or female form, the true nature of the Bodhisattva transcends gender. These various manifestations are skillful means, appearing according to the different capacities and needs of sentient beings.
The image of Avalokiteśvara inspires us to cultivate compassion, wisdom, and a spirit of selfless service — always ready to extend support and kindness to others, helping them overcome suffering and guiding them toward a life of peace, happiness, and awakening.
