Invitation Letter of Attending the Buddha’s Birthday

Dear Venerable Monks and Nuns,
Dear lay Buddhist Devotees,
We respectfully listen to the Buddha’s Birthday poem:
Summer goes and comes with the golden Dharma light
Vesak, Buddha’s Birthday all over the world,
Udumbara having bloomed eternally
Shines all kinds of beings from the compassion light.
Indeed, every year, to commemorate Sakyamuni Buddha, the Founder of Buddhism, the path of compassion, wisdom, and peace for humankind, every May, the Temples and Dharma Centers in different countries around the world co-organize the great Vesak festival including three important events, that is, Buddha’s Birthday, Enlightenment, and Buddha’s Passing away.
This year, in jointly happy harmony with these remarkable events, under the presence and witnesses of Senior Venerable monk Thích Quảng Từ, monk Thích Tâm Lực, nun Thích Hạnh Huệ, and nun Thích Chúc Minh, Buddha Mind Monastery will hold the Great Ceremony on Sunday, May 22, 2022 for Buddhists near and far.
THE PROGRAM OF THE GREAT CEREMONY WILL TAKE PLACE AS FOLLOWS:
09:30 am: Warmly welcome you all
10:00 am: Happy Celebration of Vesak
10:30 am: Dharma talk “The Meaning of Buddha’s Birthday” preached by Senior Venerable Thích Quảng Từ.
11:30 am: Newborn Buddha bathing ceremony
12:00 pm: Offerings to the Sangha
Jointly have intimate buffet lunch
01:00 pm: Singing to celebrate Buddha’s Birthday (Separate program)
02:00 pm: Ceremony[1] of Taking Refuge in the Triple Gem, transmitting, and receiving the Five Ethical Trainings together
02:30 pm: Food offerings to wandering souls
03:00 pm: Closing Ceremony
